How To Connect Booster Cables
Please follow these steps in order. Best advice by Wondroz Pakistan
- First, connect one end of RED cable, to the positive (+) terminal of DEAD battery of your car
- Secondly, connect the other end of RED cable to the positive (+) terminal of LIVE battery of Your Friend's car. (Anybody is Friend, if he helps you in emergency)
- Thirdly, connect one end of BLACK cable, to the negative (-) terminal of LIVE battery of your friend's car
- Fourthly, connect the other end of BLACK cable to some unpainted metal surface (some screw) on your car (car with dead battery). This is actually done to ground or earth the connection. BEWARE: Do Not Connect it to Negative Terminal of Your Battery
- NOW, first start your friend's car with little acceleration and then switch ON your car. Your car with dead will start. Keep you car start for few minutes to charge its battery
How To Disconnect Jumper Cables
- First, disconnect end of BLACK cable from your car
- Second, disconnect other end of BLACK cable from your friend's car
- Third, remove RED cable from the battery of your friend's car
- Fourth, remove RED cable from battery of your car
Sudden Battery Dead - Two Main Reasons
There maybe many reasons for battery drainage but we notice these two main reasons of sudden dysfunction of car battery in Pakistan
- You have parked car switched engine OFF but lights, LCD or radio is ON for some hours. Battery is suddenly drained and it will not start. FIX: If your car is static, switch ON engine after each few minutes to keep battery charged OR keep radio, interior dome light or dim lights OFF, if car is static
- Second most common reason is loose or corroded terminals of your battery. FIX: Just remove corrosion and tighten the terminals of battery for smooth flow of current
